I have multiple instances of the latest Vivaldi on Win10 64-bit, Win7 32 Bit and Win10 32 bit, and none suffer the problem you describe. None of them. However, if you can say what your version of Windows is, I can try to reproduce it.

Sorry for the late reply. Was out of action for about a week due to a bad flu that's been going around. Will try the suggestions later today if I am able!

When will this be fixed? Vivaldi is still showing the audio slider overlay controll. Disabling the media control in the vivaldi settings does not solve this issue.

Removing write/modify access of the logged on user to the widevinecdm has seemed to stop the update of 4.10.1146.0 to any higher non-working version. I've had the browser open for over 2 hours playing Netflix and it usually updates by now to a higher version but has not done so since the permissions changes.

In case anyone cares to follow suit.

Not sure how this is going to affect overall functionality, however, since I've noticed nothing out of the ordinary and I've only change permissions on the wide-vine directory and not the whole profile directory I think I'm good.

It's not an update from Windows because I've this but I use Windows LTSC and it's version 1809

@cliffes Yes. Keyboard doesn't work in Evernote extension in Vivaldi. You can not add keywords,, change title, nothing. This is the reason I can not use Vivaldi as my browser 😕

So I was wondering why my 64-bit system had 32-bit Vivaldi. Looks like the older forum posts are saying 64-bit is not ready for prime time, but now it seems the web page just defaults to 32-bit unless you dig for the "other systems" page and explicitly choose 64-bit. So I installed 64-bit. It first opened with the brag page about the new Quick Commands, and About showed that in the command line:

I closed it and re-opened it (had to replace my taskbar icon), and the link was gone from the Command Line. So I guess that "About" display shows whatever started the current run of the browser - not some cast in stone default command. The Economist suspicion above was probably meaningless.

@yes-aravind I tried it without having spotlight turned on. It seems that Windows will only download the latest images if you have spotlight turned on.

There are probably other programmatic ways you could get the latest images without spotlight being turned on (e.g. From bing via the Internet) , but I don't know any off the top of my head.
